DOMO receives special commendation for innovative sustainability efforts with ‘Circularise Plastic’

Yesterday, Circularise plastic, a joint initiative between DOMO, Borealis and Covestro received a “Special Commendation” for a sustainability project for Porsche. This Responsible Care Award was presented during Cefic’s annual Chemical Convention.

Each year, the Responsible Care® Awards recognize outstanding and innovative work among chemical companies and federations on their journey towards safe chemicals management and performance excellence. The special commendation for the ‘Circularize Plastic’ initiatives that DOMO is driving together with Borealis and Covestro confirms the leading & innovative role DOMO is playing when it comes to sustainability.

DOMO was represented by Thomas Nuyts, Advanced Materials Product Line Manager, in the  commendation video that was broadcast during the ceremony.

Thomas Nuyts comments: “DOMO has been an early adopter of the technology and the sustainability principles developed by Circularise. In essence, Circularise Plastic is a project that aims to make it possible to trace all ingredients – the so-called raw materials- throughout the supply chain of plastics; from source, to intermediates and end products. Being able to trace the origin of all raw materials is essential to ensure that plastics can be re-used or re-cycled, thus contributing to a circular economy. A big step forward towards realizing this ambition, will be the outcome of the follow-up pilot with Porsche, including even more material suppliers. This pilot will be completed this quarter!”

About Circularise

Circularise, founded in 2016 and based in The Netherlands, helps plastic manufacturers, brands and OEMs to improve traceability of raw materials from source, into parts and ultimately to end products.

They do this through a decentralized approach where they combine transparency and secured privacy to enable the industry to make valid claims about sustainability. They believe nobody should be the central authority of new transparent and circular supply chains, that’s why they accelerate the transition towards a Circular Economy using an Open Protocol approach.
