EcoVadis Awards Silver Sustainability Rating to DOMO Chemicals

DOMO Chemicals, a player on the global sustainable polyamide market, received its first independent sustainability assessment from EcoVadis in 2022. In recognition of its sustainability achievements, DOMO was awarded a Silver EcoVadis Medal from one of the world's leading providers of corporate sustainability ratings, placing DOMO in the top quartile of companies evaluated. This recognition is part of a comprehensive sustainability strategy to significantly reduce DOMO’s CO2 emissions, invest in renewable electricity, and broaden the company’s offering of sustainable and circular polyamide solutions.

"We are delighted to receive our first EcoVadis rating on sustainability and especially to be awarded the silver medal for our progress," comments Yves Bonte, CEO of DOMO Chemicals. “As a trusted partner to many leading international companies with TECHNYL® and other brands, we are an essential part of our customers’ sustainability efforts. As such, their ambitious sustainability goals for their products and services become ours as well.”

Bouchra Caret-Rhers, Corporate Sustainability Manager, adds: “The silver rating from EcoVadis, one of the leading providers of sustainability rankings, is an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to do sustainable work for the benefit of our customers, suppliers and society. Going forward, we intend to continue to lead by example in our industry and fully commit to expanding our sustainability strategy and activities."

The new silver rating places DOMO among the top 25 percent of more than 85,000 companies evaluated by EcoVadis worldwide.

EcoVadis is one of the most respected and important corporate sustainability assessment providers in the world. The survey closely examines sustainability initiatives in four categories: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. For all criteria considered, EcoVadis requires detailed documentation and evidence. The EcoVadis label thus creates transparency across all supply chains and across all continents, with suppliers voluntarily submitting to an audit and continuous improvement and education.

DOMO’s sustainability ambition is built around three long-term commitments: Planet Care, being a Partner of Choice, and being a Responsible Employer. These commitments are translated into clear targets with clear deadlines. At the center of DOMO’s sustainability strategy is a commitment to reduce scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2040; increase electricity from renewable sources to 50% by 2030 and 100% by 2040; and double the share of circular products in Engineered Materials sales by 2030. In July 2022, DOMO released its first sustainability report, covering the 2021 reporting year. This sets the baseline for a series of annual reports in which DOMO will communicate its progress and milestones toward industry sustainability leadership by 2030.
