DOMO Chemicals celebrates 10th Open Door Day at the Leuna site
On September 3rd DOMO Chemicals opened its gates on the occasion of the 10th Open Door Day at the Leuna chemical site. In this anniversary year - the chemical site was founded in 1916 - the polyamide 6-specialist presented itself to thousands of visitors. There were more than 30 companies participating with information booths, moderated bus tours and target rides to some of the companies.
With DOMO, 200 visitors visited on five target rides behind the scenes, the ammonium sulphate silo and the central control room. During the rides, specialised bus attendants informed the passengers about developments at the site and company news, providing information on the production processes and showing the enthusiastic participants the safe and environmentally friendly way in which the facilities were being operated.
Luc De Raedt, Managing Director of DOMO Caproleuna, enthusiastically stated, "The gates of the chemical site are only open to visitors once every two years. I am really pleased when residents and our employees take the opportunity to show their families and friends the site.”"
The event was also interesting for young potential employees. Human Resources staff provided information on requirements, activities and opportunities within the DOMO Chemicals Group.
1,000 buckets, each filled with 3kg DOMOGRAN® 45, turned out to be a real visitor attraction. For a modest donation visitors could become a happy owner of a bucket with the nitrogen-sulfur fertilizer. And the best part was, DOMO doubled the amount and donated this to the “Lebenshilfe Kreisvereinigung Merseburg e.V.” (Life Coaching Association of Merseburg).
