The entire TECHNYL® RED thermoplastic line-up provides flexible solutions for heat-resistant parts in automotive and industrial applications, with an attractive cost/performance ratio compared to metals and alternative plastics. With mechanical functionality and chemical composition adapted for cooling system designs, the recommended melt and mold temperatures are significantly lower than for competitive PA4.6 or PPA resins, which saves energy during processing and minimizes part cooling time.   

With its innovative formulation, TECHNYL® RED S provides numerous benefits, such as strong impact and corrosion resistance, high flowability, superior surface aspect and excellent weldability. This PPA replacement nylon is designed to resist continuous high operating temperatures up to 210°C (at 1000h) or 200°C (at 2000 hours). 

Based on patented PA66/6T technology, TECHNYL® RED J flows like PA66, ensures high chemical resistance and excellent surface aspect, while offering outstanding long-term heat aging performance at up to 220°C (at 2000 hours) or 210°C (at 3000 hours). In addition, it is well-suited for both vibration and hot gas welding, delivering high burst pressure levels confirmed in extensive pulsated air pressure tests at DOMO’s Application Performance Testing (APT®) centers.

The TECHNYL® RED line of heat resistant polyamides are designed for engine components operating above 200°C, including the challenging high-temperature requirements of turbo-charged engines. TECHNYL® RED S is a heat-stabilized polyamide, or nylon, designed especially for automotive applications operating at a continuous temperature of 200°C, such as turbo air ducts, charge air coolers and cylinder head covers.  

TECHNYL® RED J is designed to add significant additional heat performance capability at temperatures up to 220°C. It targets applications such as air intake manifolds with integrated water charge air cooler, resonators, cylinder head and engine covers, as well as water charge air coolers and turbo air ducts.
