Our ECONAMID® product line

Our current ECONAMID® product line is part of our three-step strategy for supporting circularity and provides an efficient solution for this strategy’s first step: strengthening post-industrial recycling. The production of Econamid® resins requires nearly 50% less water, emits 80% less CO2, and consumes 60% less non-renewable energy compared to the production of prime-grade polyamide. In the second and third steps of our strategy, we will focus on strengthening mechanical and chemical recycling of post-customer materials.

Recognition for our approach and products

The forward-looking features of our ECONAMID® products earned us welcome recognition from the independent business consulting company Frost & Sullivan, who awarded us the Sustainability Product Line Strategy Leadership Award 2018 for ECONAMID® Air. This unique carbon fiber compound consists entirely of recycled materials and is reinforced with recycled carbon fibers that ensure a better CO2 footprint. With ECONAMID® Air, global automakers are able to design safer and lighter vehicles that combine the highest possible comfort and appeal with the lowest possible environmental impact. 

In 2019, the value and sustainable impact of the ECONAMID® products has let DOMO take a top spot within the Ethical Corporation’s 10th Responsible Business Awards. Recognized as one of the top three companies to have demonstrated a market-leading initiative which has made a measurable difference, DOMO was “highly commended” in the category plastics innovation by the jury.
