Purchasing: Creating value for all stakeholders

Our cross-national teams source suppliers based on an established set of criteria. They also maintain supplier relationships and forge collaboration between suppliers and intra-company personnel. Our corporate purchase team consolidates the needs and purchases from different sites while our local site buyers are in charge of all local sourcing to ensure high quality and consistency as well as speed and reliability of local supply.

Our main priorities are:

1. Long-term relationships with strategic and core suppliers across the entire supply chain
2. Sustainable procurement taking into account sustainable packaging, green raw materials sourcing for our sustainable solutions and environmentally friendly transportation
3. Digitalization across the entire purchasing process including electronic ordering and e-invoicing
4. Joint partnerships for innovation and new technologies that enhance DOMO’s products and services for all our stakeholders

Our purchase team manages products and services that are directly related to both the products used in the production process and the services supporting our production. The organization sources goods and services in the following categories: 

• Raw Materials 
• Energy & Utilities 
• Packaging 
• General Services  
• ICT 
• Logistics 
• Industrial Maintenance

Our category managers lead category initiatives across the business. DOMO’s internal information on a specific category is combined with thorough market, supply and demand research to identify opportunities for continuous supply chain optimization. Our category managers, in partnership with our local site buyers, are known to be reliable and trusted partners for all our suppliers across the entire value chain.

As a global organization, we take our responsibilities very seriously. We comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the respective legal systems in which we work. We also require our employees to act in accordance with the highest ethical and legal standards, which are embedded in our DOMO Code of Conduct. Moreover, we want to ensure that our products and services are produced within a supply chain that complies with international standards.

We have therefore summarized our expectations of our suppliers and service providers with respect to business ethics and integrity, working conditions, environment, and health and safety in a Supplier Code of Conduct. This stipulates that we expect our suppliers to act in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. They should be aware of their responsibilities and due diligence obligations along the whole supply chain and should take this into account when entering into contracts with new subcontractors and vendors.

DOMO Chemicals has set ambitious sustainability targets and strives to become a benchmark in sustainable development within the industry by the end of this decade. We are fully committed to sustainability, social responsibility and minimizing our impact on the environment. Our business approach is driven by environmental supply chain performance and DOMO expects all of its suppliers to add value with sustainability.

As part of our DOMO Beyond sustainability program, we assess suppliers according to the following criteria:

• low environmental impact for raw materials
• low environmental impact for packaging
• low logistics environmental impact
• integration of CSR aspects

DOMO Chemicals has a large network of suppliers that provide business critical products and services.

Suppliers will be assessed based on DOMO’s goals to focus on strategic, core and transactional supplier partnerships. All our partners further need to have a transparent and well-documented process and align with all industry standards. ​ Through a systematic approach, DOMO assesses a supplier’s performance and success rate based on the following criteria:
