Electro-friendly polyamide solutions for safer e-mobility

Standard heat-stabilized TECHNYL® solutions based on PA6/PA66 & PA6.10 have organic properties and are free of copper, making them suitable for electric and electronic components.

But to limit ion migration risks, which is critical in e-mobility applications, DOMO has gone one step further with TECHNYL® PURE, a range of halogen-free solutions where Good Manufacturing Practices ensure limited pollution during compounding, maintaining an average halogen content below 30ppm.

TECHNYL® PURE is an excellent fit for highly demanding e-mobility applications, ensuring safety-critical functionality by preventing corrosion, while remaining competitive with standard solutions.

Growing the range of orange shaded polyamides for safer e-mobility

Orange is an important color for the modern automotive industry as it is used to differentiate parts that are subject to high voltage above 60 V DC and above 60 V & 30 V AC and is fundamental to warn consumers about the potential risk of electric shock. Standard polyamide, however, shows high color fluctuations after heat aging.

With TECHNYL® customers can rely on a comprehensive ORANGE shaded offering, ranging from PA6-based solutions up to high temperature nylon, unfilled or high glass reinforced solutions, as well as flame retardant options. Colors are available from RAL 2011 up to RAL 2003.

At Chinaplas we will be presenting some new ORANGE solutions for the e-mobility market, with improved electrical performance and processability, together with color retention capability beyond aging at 130°C for 1000h.

This presentation will introduce to our new special ORANGE solutions with improved electrical performance and processability, together with color retention capability beyond aging at 130°C for 1000h.

DOMO's polyamide-based flame retardants meeting miniaturization needs

Specifically formulated to increase fire and electrical protection for power management equipment, DOMO’s flame retardant polyamides give manufacturers an edge when it comes to miniaturization. Indeed, TECHNYL® PROTECT halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR) grades enable manufacturers to produce miniaturized components of the highest quality while meeting the strictest safety standards.

In addition, DOMO customers can benefit from TECHNYL STAR® and TECHNYL® ONE solutions, already well established in the E&E market and now in the EV application space, answering such specific markets needs as optimized processability, reduced corrosion, and thermal ageing.

The new born family in this field, that will be launched for the Chinese market at Chinaplast is the new range of TECHNYL® 4EARTH® flame retardants based on recycled feedstock with reduced CO2 emissions compared to virgin alternatives, a unique innovation by DOMO for the E&E segment.

Visit us at Chinaplas to learn about  our innovative flame retardant family answering such specific market needs as optimized processability, reduced corrosion, and thermal ageing.

Tailored flame retardant PA6 and PA66 grades boosting e-mobility innovation.

Some mechanical, assembly and structural parts within the battery and automotive power electronics require UL94 V0 materials even though they have very different requirements than connectivity applications. With decades of experience formulating flame retardant grades for E&E applications at DOMO, today we are able to apply this expertise to create a toolbox enabling the development of halogen-free flame retardant grades tailored to new mobility needs. By optimizing flame retardant properties to serve higher wall thicknesses, these solutions provide the mechanical properties to meet the demanding needs and improve competitivity in the e-mobility sector.

The high fluidity TECHNYL STAR® technology is another outstanding solution in this range, fostering smoother processing for the injection of FR materials.

Come to our booth and learn more about our full TECHNYL® product portfolio of flame retardant polyamides dedicated to e-mobility battery structural parts and power electronics.
