Leuna site, a rich history and a bright future
DOMO Chemicals continues to invest in the Leuna site
"The acquisition of the Caprolactam business in Leuna in 1994 was a real milestone in the successful history of our company", says Jan De Clerck, President of DOMO Chemicals. The DOMO Group built new production facilities, e.g. for sulfuric acid and hydroxyl ammonium (HAS). The former carpet and yarn manufacturer from Belgium developed rapidly into a global polyamide 6 specialist for applications in the field of textile, BCF, industrial yarns and Engineering Plastics.
Today DOMO Chemicals invests in a state-of-the-art BOPA (biaxially oriented polyamide) nylon film plant at the Leuna site. The new plant is expected to be fully operational by January 2017 and will create 35 new jobs.
