Phenol is a colourless liquid with its own odour. It solidifies at 40 - 41 °C. Phenol is a hazardous substance.
Applications
Phenol is used in the production of phenolic resins, bisphenol A, adipic acid, as a caprolactam precursor, aniline, alkyl phenols, plasticizers and antioxidants.
