11th open day at the Leuna site

The DOMO Chemicals Group invited on September 22, 2018 from 10 am to 4 pm in bright sunshine for the 11th Open Day in Leuna. Staff members informed on their booth about job offers as well as the product portfolio and also gave insights into the production.

Over 200 visitors were allowed to look behind the scenes of the new film plant, the central control room and other facilities. Research Director Dr. Thomas Jende also briefed on site developments and company news, including the new GO FOR ZERO safety initiative “AT DOMO WE CARE“ for a higher safety awareness.

Luc De Raedt, Managing Director of DOMO Caproleuna, enthusiastically stated, "The 11th open day event was once again a great opportunity to meet friends, former and current employees as well as residents. We were pleased to see that many people took the opportunity to look behind the scenes of DOMO. We saw grandparents telling their grandchildren fascinating stories about caprolactam, polyamide and ammonium sulphate fertilizers. This once again proves the importance of chemicals made in Leuna for the people and the region.”

Human Resources staff members discussed requirements, activities and career opportunities within the DOMO Chemicals Group. "We had a very high intake at the booth and were happy about many questions and ideas," says Jana Hölzel, HR manager at DOMO. "Some visitors were surprised to hear that DOMO now has around 900 employees and has taken over 90 percent of the apprentices in the last five years." Interested candidates can apply until 31 October for an apprenticeship.

The Ammonium Sulphate fertilizer DOMOGRAN® 45 which is manufactured in Leuna was again in high demand. Around 1,000 visitors used the opportunity to get a two-kilo bucket of high-quality fertilizer for a small donation. As always, DOMO doubled the donated contribution of more than 1,500 Euros up to 3,000 Euros – a new record. This year, all donations go to the charitable association "Wir helfen e.V." in Halle. Domo wants to extend its gratitude to all who donated.
